Seal the Deal with This Technique

ree
Have a plan to get them here? Then what?

In today’s digital marketing world, an attempt to seal the deal is known as having a Call-To-Action. A CTA is important for any business because you want it to lead to sales, grow your email list or increase brand awareness. CTA’s can be placed on social media posts, email campaigns as well as your website.

Usually, the flow of CTA’s start with your social media platform. You may ask your audience to go to your website to sign up for your email list. Then once you have their email address, you may send them periodic valuable information. Eventually, in one of your emails, you will ask them to purchase something.

While the concept may seem easy, getting someone to take action is not. What can you do to get your audience to take action? Here are a few ideas on getting the flow started and getting your followers one step closer to being a customer.

Increase your holiday sales with a solid marketing strategy.

  1. Know exactly what you want your audience to do. Be intentional with your CTA's. Have a flow chart of the journey you want to lead your potential customer through. This will help you be more consistent and focused on your efforts. If you are starting this during the holidays, our free Holiday Marketing Guide found on our website will help you create a marketing campaign and a call-to-action with intention.

  2. Entice your audience with some type of benefit to go to your website. Depending on your type of business, you can offer a coupon, free download (info-product), free webinar, free event, etc. Make the offer so incredible that they can’t believe they are getting such value for free or at a discount. Be sure you set up your site where it requires them to enter their email address to receive the offer. They can choose later to opt-out of emails if they’d like. Tip: Use segmented lists for each offer so you can classify where each lead came from and create future specialized marketing campaigns for them.

  3. Now that you have their email address, treat it well. You don’t want to spam them with promotion after promotion. Add value to their inbox by providing free information that relates to your business. If you have a service-based business, send them a weekly newsletter with tips and advice. If you sell products, sending video tutorials on how to use the products will not only be appreciated but can increase your chances of up-sells or repeat purchases.

  4. In an occasional email, set some powerful motivators for them to take action on an upcoming sale or promotion you are running. They will gladly purchase what you have to offer after you build trust with them. Sending coupon codes via email is a nice and non-pushy way to get them to buy. Tip: Don’t forget to set-up your abandoned cart email automation. People are easily distracted and you don’t want to lose a sale because they forgot to click “confirm purchase.”

  5. As you are building trust and creating a loyal customer, be sure to throw in some CTA’s here and there to get them to share your business with their friends and family. The easiest way to grow your business is through referrals. Usually, by simply asking, your customers will share your products or services with their followers. If you need to, you can offer a coupon code for a discount for them AND a friend to get them to introduce their friends to your business.

  6. Throughout the process, make sure your CTAs are clear and easy for your followers to take action on. No one wants to chase around links or buttons to get the deal or valuable information you have to offer.

In order for any of this to be successful, you have to know who your ideal customer is and what your ideal customer wants. This is the foundation of any business. With that being said, don’t be discouraged if this takes time to figure out. When you are consistent and listening to your audience, this becomes easier and easier. Don’t forget to always stay aware of the changes in social media and digital marketing. You wouldn’t want to be using techniques from years ago.
